Case Closure Process

1. Overview

The overview of the case closure process is as follows:-

 

2. Use

If a Case Closure Form is required before the case can be closed, this will automatically generated. The case status will change to PENDING-CLOSE. You should now complete the generated Case Closure Form before attempting to close the case again.

 

Once you've reviewed the case and completed the Case Closure Form, click on the Close Case button again. You will now be presented with a confirmation box. 

 

 

Once you've confirmed that the Case Closure Form has been complete (or not required at your organisation), you can now selected the closure reason and comments.

3. Setup Case Closure Form

A. Create a special letters settings for the Case Closure Form as shown below

 

b. Add the text tag "CloseForm:xxxxxxxxxx" in the Text Block column, separated by ||  for the case types that you want a closure form to be automatically generated when the case is closed.  (xxxxxxxxxx is the Letter Code from step A above). See Case Type Parameters for more details on how to setup.

c. Add the text tag "OnlySupervisorsCanClose" in the Text Block column, separated by ||  for the case types that you only want the supervisor to close.

Eg. In this example,  Case Types A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H are setup so that only Supervisors can close cases. Cases Type I,J and Z can be closed by Fee earners
